My father was a pioneer in this area (well I think he was) as he was one of the first to plant olives here going back twenty years now. Of course he was still working in Cape Town and was only able to move out here permanently about 6 years ago.
We are first and foremost a table olive farm (we only started making our own oil to save on waste). We made our first blend, which was an Intense Style and which won Gold at the 2011 SA Olive Awards. Since then we have won 2 Gold's and a Silver in 2012 and 3 Gold's in 2013 (two of which featured in the Top 20 Oil's in the country).
We are based just outside Robertson in the Klaasvoogds East area (between Robertson and Ashton); opposite the road from wine farms such as Arabella and Excelsior.
We are boutique and therefore small (we produce a maximum of 7 to 10 000L per year of oil). We do our own farming, blending, processing etc.
My partner (Clive) also makes a delicious selection of Tapenade's/olive paste's and he is also the one that takes people through the tastings.

Tastings involve a tour round the farm as well as trying different cultivars of oil from tanks, as well as different blends of oil's and oil's that were pressed at different harvesting times. We also have a variety of table olives as well as 3/4 different olive pastes.
It's very casual, but it's also very personal and people seem to like it. They do, however, need to let us know when they will be arriving so that we can be prepared - as mentioned, we do all the farming ourselves so this will often involve Clive climbing off the tractor to set up shop!
