Welcome to the farms of the Cape Olive Route

The Cape Olive Route covers a large area of  the Western Cape, so we have divided it into smaller areas, to make it easier to visit all the participating farms in each area in a day.

We will be hosting tours to participating farms, where you will be able to taste the wonderful Extra Virgin Olive oils and other olive products, produced on these farms, and learn more about the art of olive oil tasting, health benefits, and history of the area.
Take a look at the Tours on offer!

Breede River Valley

Willow Creek

Willow Creek lies in Nuy Valley, just outside Worcester in the Western Cape. The farm has been in the Rabie family since the late 1700's, and the first olive trees were planted in 1999 and in 2002 the first oil was pressed.

Rio Largo

Rio Largo Olive Estate, an award winning estate, is situated in the Scherpenheuwel valley between Worcester and Robertson on the southern bank of the Breede River.

Rio Largo Olive Estates uses 3 cultivars; Frantoio, Leccino and Coratina. All three cultivars originate from Italy and are known to compliment each other in making up a well balanced extra virgin olive oil.

Diepsak Farm

The Jeffery family welcomes you to our farm alongside the Breede River in the Scherpenheuvel Valley - an undiscovered and richly fertile tract of land that yields premium fruit

Olyfberg lies on the farm El Olivar, on the Eilandia Road, off R62, in the Breede River Vallei.  Shimmering olive groves as far as the eye can see make an awe-inspiring statement in the otherwise barren landscape. Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil won top honors for our Olyfberg's 2007 and 2008 blend in an International competition, as well as SA Olive Gold Award for the 2007 and 2008 vintages.

Marbrin Farm

Marbrin Farm is first and foremost a table olive farm (we only started making our own oil to save on waste). We made our first blend, which was an Intense Style and which won Gold at the 2011 SA Olive Awards. Since then we have won 2 Gold's and a Silver in 2012 and 3 Gold's in 2013 (two of which featured in the Top 20 Oil's in the country).
We are based just outside Robertson in the Klaasvoogds East area (between Robertson and Ashton); opposite the road from wine farms such as Arabella and Excelsior.

Waverley Hills

Waverley Hills is situated between Tulbagh and Ceres, South Africa, at the foothills of the breathtaking Witzenberg Mountain Range.

For us at Waverley Hills,  organic farming is more than just a passion; it is a way of life.

Oakhurst Olives

Our farm was established on Lemoendrif Farm, nestled in a corner of the beautiful Tulbagh Valley in 2004 when the first olive trees were planted. The Tulbagh Valley has the ideal climate and our granite- and sandstone-derived soils contribute to the character of Oakhurst Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Paarl Region

 Slent Farms

It was a beautiful sunny day, when we first saw the farm. It was love at first sight: we knew this place was special, and would mean so much to us.

Olyvenbosch is a 50 ha farm on the back slopes of the Paarl Mountains in the Western Cape. Owned by the Van Eyssen family trust, the farm presses olive oil from newly planted Frantoio Leccino and Coratina olive trees.

Klein Olyvenbosch

This farm lies outside Wellington, at the foothills of the Hawekwa mountains. This picturesque farm, started producing their own olive oil in 2011. There is also an amazing forest garden on the farm. This young garden, that was established in 2005 in a grove of old wild olive trees on a stony slope, already features over a thousand clivias, as well as azaleas, bromeliads and ferns under the trees and next to water streams.

Vesuvio Olive Estate

Situated in the picturesque Paarl region of the Western Cape, the 500 hectar Vesuvio Estates is home to more than 100 000well-loved trees rooted in the South African  soil and a cold extraction processing facility using state of the art Italian technology.

Stellenbosch and Helderberg Region

Our De Boerin Extra Virgin Olive Oil, derived its name from the nickname of Annetjie de Boom, the wife of Jan van Riebeeck's gardener Hendrik Boom. She was fondly called Annetjie de Boerin by the burghers and was the first innkeeper and restaurateur in the Cape Colony in 1665.

It is an oil with the strength and generosity that echoes the goodness of the native soil, the sun and great care goes into its making

Tokara Olive Oil

Througout the classical wine-producing regions of the world, there is a natural association between the olive grove and the vineyard. At Tokara, this celebrated relationship is being continued.

The Olive Shed and its groves are situated on the TOKARA Farm and can therefore be associated with much of the interesting site's history.

Le Verger

At Le Verger, here in the Devon Valley, we grow Mission (an American cutivar taken to the United States by missionaries), the same of which is suitable for oil and preserving, and also three Italian cultivars - Frantoio, Leccino and Coratina,  grown in the proportion that provides a distinctive and unique oil. We are situated in the unique Devon Valley, on the western outskirts of Stellenbosch.

Uva Mira

Uva Mira is a family owned boutique winery and olive oil producer, perched on the slopes of the Majestic Helderberg mountains. The farm is the highest of those on the Helderberg, boasting 350-degree views which include False Bay, Table Bay, Cape Point, Table Mountain, and Robben Island.

Hidden Valley

Hidden Valley Farm has planted 4000 olive trees, a decision that was driven by intuition and passion for the tree and versatility of it's fruit.

The fertile soils on the Hidden Valley Farm made a perfect home for these trees and they grew vigorously. A fusion of table and oil varieties now make up the beautiful silver textured environment around the impressive stone wall of the wine cellar.

"It is a source of great pride to all of us on the Estate that we are receiving consistent recognitions of the world class quality of our Morgenster Extra Virgin Olive Oil. And that South Africa's young olive oil industry has reached the same level as long-established producer countries" Giulio Bertrand

Durbanville Region

Hillcrest Estate

With a view across Table Bay from Table Mountain to Robben Island, the Hillcrest Estates's olive groves are ideal for production of our award winning olives and olive oils. Established in 1993, we are proud of this achievement during its short lifetime.

Overberg Region

At Adamskloof, we have made it our mission to maintain the same sustainability as our symbol - what we take out, we put back in. The Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, where Adamskloof is situated, is perfect for growing olives.

De Rustica Olive Estate

Surrounded by World Heritage Sites and unique floral diversity, De Rustica Olive Estates is situated deep in the picturesque Swartberg Mountains of the Cape.

Mardouw Olives

Mardouw Olive Estate is located at the foot of the Langeberg mountains, in the middle of the Garden Route, Western Cape, South Africa.
